I'll show you how the color wheel and the tonal scale turn out to be the same structure seen two different ways, and I'll prove it not with diagrams but with paintings: how Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Caravaggio each solved the problem of color and light centuries before anyone wrote the theory down.
