Get closer to a building than a straight vertical line should allow
There's a technique I call the Maximum Point of Perspective (MPoP) — move in as close as the lens permits, right to the edge of confrontational, while every vertical line stays perfectly straight. No distortion, no trickery. Just an angle of view wider than the eye can take in at a glance.
Four days across three cities that between them hold some of the most extraordinary architecture in Europe: the timeless canals of Amsterdam, the bold engineering of Rotterdam's Erasmus Bridge, the futuristic Eye Film Museum, Rem Koolhaas's vertical city at The Rotterdam, Calatrava's bridges near Amsterdam, and Zaha Hadid's diamond-shaped Port House in Antwerp. This isn't a workshop about finding pretty buildings and pointing a camera at them — it's a complete system for composition, tonal design, and processing, built over 18 years and taught nowhere else.
Two of the bridges we will photograph, and not a coincidence I've won 1st place at the IPA 2014 for professional architecture with these 2 iconic bridges.

Four things you won't find in any other architecture workshop
Systems beyond the rule of thirds
The axial/non-axial framework, façade-count terminology, the Razorblade Perspective, and MPoP — techniques developed specifically for architecture, not borrowed from general photography rules.
Music and black-and-white, connected
For the first time, I'm teaching the direct correlation between harmonic intervals in music and how tonal zones should be distributed in a B&W image — a framework two years in development, part of my forthcoming book. You'll leave with a principled way to build tonal balance, not just an intuition for it.
Principles, not just steps
Understanding why a masking or blending decision works will make you better long after the workshop ends. That's the difference between following a recipe and knowing how to cook.

What fine art actually means, how it connects to Jungian individuation, and how to turn a building into something personal rather than merely documentary.
