Creating True Fine Art Architecture Images Webinar
Live and interactive PAID webinar via Zoom
When: December 1, 2024
Time: 3.30 pm CET (Amsterdam) / 9.30 am EST (New York) / 6.30 am PST (Los Angeles)
Duration: approx. 3.5 hours (excluding breaks)
Deliverables: The webinar will be recorded and distributed to the attendees a few days after the Webinar. One week before the webinar you will receive a short preparation video
Objectives of this webinar
This will be my first webinar focused on creating, visualizing, and processing architectural images only in B&W fine art style. The emphasis will be on doing justice to the qualification 'fine art' and celebrating the architectural design. The former celebrates the artist, the latter the architect. Acknowledging and integrating both, results in 'true fine art architecture'. Instead of in name only based on the visual style.
Outline - Only Architecture
As the pioneer of the style now colloquially known as B&W fine art architecture, Joel Tjintjelaar will discuss everything needed to create B&W architectural photographs in this striking style. From the approach in the field and recommended equipment to composition. Then from image selection to image analysis behind the computer to deciding on the visual style. The final result will be achieved using Photoshop only. Everything will be demonstrated. It will also include brief demonstrations of the best masking approach.
Joel is a purist who believes there should be a minimal degree of separation and freedom between the artist and the final result. So, Joel only uses the available information in the RAW file and avoids image manipulation and the use of software ‘filters’ to qualify the result as ‘fine art’.
Seats
The attendance is limited - so full means full. After successful payment in full, you will receive an invite with a Zoom link within 24 hours.
Levels
All levels from intermediate to experienced. Beginners are also welcome but need to invest time themselves in learning the Photoshop basics. Basic camera settings and principles are not part of this workshop.
A Photoshop class, not a plugin demonstration
This webinar is NOT about using the Artisan Pro plugin but forms an important part of the webinar to speed up the workflow and demos. All demonstrations can be done with Photoshop only and you will get an overview of how to map the panel steps to PS steps before the start of the webinar with a short video.

What Is Silver Halide?
Silver halide is a chemical compound and has been used in photographic film and paper for hundreds of years. In fact, when it comes to producing high-quality photo prints, silver halide printing is the chef’s kiss of printing methods.
Also referred to as chromogenic prints, C-types, C-prints or C-type prints, silver halide prints are actually created by a chemical reaction. And while you won’t find us teaching science lessons any time soon, we do know a thing or two about this kind of chemistry…
Silver halide paper contains light-sensitive silver halide crystals and dye couplers suspended in layers of gelatin. When this paper (and the concoction inside it) is exposed to light, it triggers a chemical reaction, which then develops to form a full-colour image — all without a drop of ink in sight.
In a nutshell, silver halide prints are exposed using light instead of ink, digital files instead of film negatives and a printer instead of a darkroom.
