    • A PDF visualizing the most used and recommended workflows so you can follow along will be sent a few days before the webinar starts

Brief

I am announcing a hands-on webinar with in-depth start-to-finish demonstrations of an integrated approach towards B&W fine art processing with advanced masking. The techniques and methods demonstrated will apply to every genre, including architecture and landscapes.

This is a course with limited theoretical explanations. Instead, you will gain an understanding of universal principles of creating beautiful images implicitly, along with the various practical demonstrations.

The techniques and workflow demonstrated are designed to produce a printable, high-quality, high-resolution image result suitable for gallery exhibition purposes.

Background outline

Advanced fine art post-processing is impossible without knowing how to use advanced masking techniques, and proficiency in masking without a specific processing goal is useless. Understanding the interdependence between these two phases will significantly expedite the time spent creating and improving your art.

Sometimes precise masks are needed and possible, and sometimes masks are needed but nearly impossible or too time-consuming to create. Other times, one may think that masks are required but can be replaced by a more effective processing technique. The most difficult part is finding the best and fastest solution. There is always a ‘best’ solution that depends on what you want to adjust and on your masking and post-processing skills.

In this webinar, you will learn how to combine the right masking techniques with an essential set of post-processing techniques and correct image analysis to have the best and fastest results. The set with post-processing techniques I teach is certainly not commonly used, but it is essential for making the right masking decisions and using the right processing method.

Seats

There will be limited attendance: full is full. You will receive an invite with a Zoom link within 24 hours upon successful payment in full.

Levels

All levels, from beginners to intermediates and experienced. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, you will not learn tricks, but acquire advanced and proven techniques and valuable insights.

A Photoshop class, not a plugin demonstration

This webinar is NOT about using the Artisan Pro or Quick Mask Pro plugins, but they form an important part of the webinar to speed up the workflow and demos. All demonstrations can be done with Photoshop only, and you will get an overview of how to map the panel steps to PS steps before the start of the webinar, with a short video.

Topics:

    • High-level overview workflow with an overview of the main decision points and steps for processing and masking as an interdependent activity
    • Image analysis and design for efficient and effective fine art creation. Identify weak and strong points, and recommend an approach for processing and masking. The following points will be addressed:

      • Create masks, or is there a better way?

      • Where should the selective contrast be, how much is enough, and where should it not be?

      • Depth perception

      • The overall approach that includes the above

    • Masking images: making only a limited number of necessary hard masks in the fastest possible way. For the sake of doing a variety of demonstrations within the given time, masking will not be done perfectly, but to understand what method to use.
    • Luminosity masks: evaluating and selecting the right luminosity masks for intersection with hard masks.
    • Converting and adjusting the images based on the image design to high-impact and beautiful images using advanced methods that offer the highest degree of control and simplicity.
    • Using the principle of 'neutralizing' the image by removing contrasts and then bringing back details and contrasts selectively
    • Stylizing skies and creating depth: simple and advanced methods
    • Color processing using the B&W process

Cancelation policy

  • Cancellation before July 21, 2025: 30% cancellation fees will be incurred
  • Cancellation on or after July 21, 2025: No refund will be possible. The full recording will be provided.
