::: Berlin Weekend Fine Art Architecture Workshop :::
3‑Day On‑Location Workshop · March 13–15, 2026 · Berlin
**The Origin & Beyond: From Source Techniques to Personal Vision**
Return to the pioneering source of today’s popular B&W architectural trends and move beyond formulas into a deeply personal visual language. In this 3‑day weekend workshop, you’ll learn the original B&W processing methods I developed since 2009—now expanded with advanced architectural composition, Jungian psychology, and music‑inspired visual and tonal design.
What this workshop is about
In just three intensive days in Berlin—supported by a 200‑page syllabus, a 2‑hour pre‑workshop Zoom session, and two post‑workshop Zoom reviews—you will:
- Revisit the foundations of contemporary fine art architectural B&W from the source that pioneered this.
- Learn sophisticated, architecture‑specific composition systems that go far beyond the rule‑of‑thirds and “leading lines.”
- Master tilt‑shift lens use for technically accurate images and powerful “hero” perspectives.
- Understand the principles behind my B&W processing, not just the steps.
- Explore what fine art really means, how it relates to human consciousness and Jungian individuation, and how to turn buildings into meaningful, personal work.
This workshop is not about copying a style; it’s about understanding the origin of a visual language and then transforming it into your own.

No shortcuts, no formulas
Our approach is theoretical, highly technical, and deeply practical. There are no artistic, practical, or intellectual shortcuts—no presets, no gimmicks, no “ten easy tricks.” You will be challenged to:
- Connect your images to your own inner world rather than chasing trends.
- Collaborate and improvise in the field.
- Compose precise compositions in the field while using light and space functionally.
- Think critically behind the computer when processing and designing tonal relationships using music-like intervals and proportions.
Three Intensive days of hands-on photography
We will spend 3 days in Berlin photographing a carefully curated mix of modern and classic architecture. From iconic landmarks to the lesser-known buildings. From classic to modernism.
Structure: Online preparation & on‑location practice
Pre‑workshop (online)
- 2‑hour Zoom session - one week before Berlin.
-
200+ page syllabus covering:
- Architectural composition systems
- B&W foundations, tonal composition, and B&W visual design
- Practical use cases and suggested assignments, and much more
-
2 reference videos:
- 5.5‑hour HD B&W Processing & Masking Reference 2024
- Manual Exposure Blending video
Participants receive the materials at least one month in advance and are encouraged to study them thoroughly beforehand. The goal is to arrive in London fully prepared, so the 3 days can be used exclusively for shooting.
On location (Berlin, 3 days)
- Guided shooting days with my personal guidance
- Digital and printed hand‑outs with building analyses and compositional guidance.
- Continuous one‑on‑one feedback and adjustments in the field
Post‑workshop (online)
2 Zoom sessions focused on:
- Processing your workshop images
- Image review and critique
What makes this workshop different
You will not find:
- Generic composition tips
- Superficial “fine art” clichés
- A fixed recipe to imitate a style
You will find:
- Source‑level insight into the techniques and visual language that shaped today’s trends.
- Advanced, architecture‑specific composition and tonal design methods.
- A framework to connect fine art to consciousness, Jungian individuation, and personal vision.
If you’ve already taken mainstream B&W architecture workshops, this is where you come to understand their origins—and move beyond them.
Two types of workshops
We offer two types of workshops: the compact 3-day Weekend workshop and the more comprehensive Premium workshops, which can range from 4 to 7 days. Premium workshops go deeper and are longer than the compact Weekend workshop. The Premium Workshop that we are announcing simultaneously will take place in London in May 2026. More info here.
